The Nunavut Surface Rights Tribunal (NSRT) jurisdiction and procedures are set out in the Nunavut Waters and Nunavut Surface Rights Tribunal Act (S.C. 2002, c. 10), which can be found online at https://nsrt-Nunavut.com.
The NSRT has developed a series of flow charts which visually set out the NSRT’s areas of jurisdiction and the procedural pathways involved. While these flow charts are intended to assist in understanding the NSRT’s jurisdiction and procedures, the reader is advised that these flow charts are not a legal document, have no legal status, and should not be relied upon for legal purposes.
In the event of any discrepancy between the Nunavut Waters and Nunavut Surface Rights Tribunal Act, the NSRT Rules of Procedure, and these flow charts, the Legislation and the Rules should be relied upon.
